John has degrees in Commerce (4 Economics and 4 Accounting subjects) and Law. He was an articled clerk at Morris Fletcher & Cross (now Minter Ellison), was Associate to Sir George Kneipp in Townsville and was the Managing Partner of Connolly Suthers (10 partners and 40 staff) in Townsville before he was thirty. He also practiced for thirty-five years as a Barrister including as a Crown Prosecutor at the private Bar. He has worked as Corporate Counsel for five public companies and numerous private ones. He is an experienced company chair, Litigation-Commercial and Wills,  and Project Manager. His passion is IP Law, Start Ups, capital and private credit raising strategies and offers, and he is adept at business law generally. He has a commercial rather than overly legalistic attitude to the practice of law.
